Frequently Asked Questions
Question: What services does Varney & Sons Logging perform?
Answer: We specialize in residential free tree removal providing there are 20 or more trees to be removed (select cut), to include land clearing, lot clearing, lot thinning, and view cuts.
Question: Do you cut down trees for free?
Answer: Yes, provided you have 20 or more trees to be taken down. You can partner with neighbors to reach the 20 tree minimum as well.
Question: What if I don't have 20 or more trees to be cut?
Answer: Often, we can do a job for a small fee if there are less than 20 trees. Also, if you don't have 20 trees, you can combine with neighbors who also want trees removed, to help reach the minimum of 20 trees.
Question: Will you cut more than 20 trees if asked?
Answer: Yes, the more trees you want cut, the better. We consider all jobs.
Question: Do you cut pine trees?
Answer: Yes, we actually prefer pine trees, but we will cut all species of trees.
Question: How big do the trees have to be?
Answer: Generally, we like to see trees that are as big or bigger than a basketball (12 - 15 inches thick). The bigger the better.
Question: How does it all work?
Answer: The homeowner identifies the trees that they want removed. A representative from Varney & Sons Logging will come out to see the job and confirm the trees to be removed. An agreement will follow and the trees will be scheduled for removal at the next possible date.
Question: Do you clean up the debris and branches?
Answer: No, we do not pick up the branches or grind the stumps. The homeowner is responsible for clean up of branches and removal of stumps. We can give a referral for companies that do that type of work.
